Dr Stellios is a renowned pioneer of sustainable design with a particular focus on the long-term effects of the Built Environment on human health, society, climate change, and land use. He co-authored the first guidebook on sustainable design in China, which is now used as a textbook at Tongji University in Shanghai and the University of Nottingham in the UK.
Over the past two decades, Dr Stellios has provided consultation for over 80 projects across Asia, Australia, and Europe. His notable projects include the Crystal Palace Park Masterplan in London, the American University of Beirut with Zaha Hadid, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, the new Doha International Airport Extension, PETRONAS Headquarters in Kerteh, the world’s second-tallest building Merdeka PNB 118 in Kuala Lumpur, and Paya Lebar Central Masterplan in Singapore.
Dr Stellios holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of the Aegean, dual Master’s degrees in Environmental Design & Engineering and in Virtual Environments from the Bartlett School at University College London, and a PhD in Applied Mathematics with a focus on CFD, which he earned with a scholarship from the University of Greenwich. After spending nine years in London, he relocated to Asia in 2008 and now serves as the Honorary Consul of Greece in Malaysia. In recognition of his contributions to sustainability, he was awarded the Best Sustainability Business Leader in the Europa Awards in 2017.
