Located in Bintulu, Sarawak, the Shell RMOGP Main Office Building is a high-performance workplace targeting GBI Certified standards and reflecting Shell’s commitment to sustainability. Fully powered by Sarawak’s hydroelectric grid, it will operate with zero operational carbon emissions and a reduced environmental footprint.
The design incorporates open-plan offices, meeting rooms, and collaboration spaces optimized for comfort and flexibility. Energy strategies, including advanced lighting zoning and optimized HVAC systems, are projected to reduce consumption by at least 25% compared to conventional offices. Water efficiency is achieved through high-performance fixtures that cut indoor use by about 52%, supported by drought-tolerant landscaping, an edible herb garden, and rainwater harvesting systems. Materials are selected for low-VOC content, recycled inputs, and regional sourcing, while construction waste diversion will exceed 75%.
With renewable energy, resource-efficient systems, and healthy, biophilic spaces, the Shell RMOGP Main Office Building sets a new benchmark for sustainable corporate facilities in Sarawak.
