NEAPOLI teamed up with Architects Αinul Rahman Architects and ARUP Engineering for the design competition of the proposed new Penang International Airport Expansion. The team won the competition in September 2018, proposing a design that would achieve Platinum Rating with the Malaysian Green Building Rating Tool and Gold Rating.

The sustainability framework aimed to make PIA one of the most Environment friendly airport facilities in the region. The plan targets to reduce energy bills by 50%, mains water usage by 40% and solid waste disposal by 50%.
