Dubai Golf City is located in the suburb of Dubai, UAE. It is a unique multistorey 6 Star Hotel with villas overlooking a golf terrain. The main building is designed with an inviting atrium goes all the way up to the roof and brings in plenty of daylight on each floor to improve indoor environmental quality.

In Dubai Gold City, we worked on optimising the ventilation strategies, daylighting and energy efficiency and advised on pedestrian wind comfort, thermal massing, solar collection and efficient heating and cooling. The team used Dynamic Energy Modelling (EnergyPlus) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to model airflows and temperatures throughout the three-dimensional atrium space in order to test and verify non-conventional ventilation strategies  such as natural ventilation and displacement ventilation enhanced through/by stack effect.
