Located on the north-western tip of Langkawi Island, Datai Coast is natural enclave encompassing a site area of 1800 acres. The Datai Langkawi, a multiple award winning island resort is an icon of luxury set amidst centuries-old rainforest, sparkling limestone outcrops and the magnificent Andaman Sea. To accommodate for future growth, DRH looked to develop a masterplan with a focus on sustainable planning and development, optimising facilities, and enhancing the appeal and identity of the DATAI to encourage community and social interaction.

Collaborating with stakeholders and the planners, NEAPOLI provides strategic sustainability consulting for a 20-Year Masterplan intended to guide the Teluk Datai destination through expansion and renovation. The key element of NEAPOLI’s involvement is the development the sustainable masterplanning policy for the whole region. It addresses all three aspects of sustainability – environmental, social and economic for the region/area – and defines the current and target levels of sustainability, the steps and time tables required to reach the targets, and performance metrics.
