NOVARTIS Corporate Headquarters achieves WELL pre-certification.

WELL Building Standard® is certainly an excellent certification program, but many organizations are realizing the benefit of acquiring multiple certifications. Swiss multinational pharmaceutical giant NOVARTIS is one such organization. In 2021 the world’s second-largest pharmaceutical took a huge step forward redesigning its Malaysia Headquarters to meet LEED and WELL standards. NEAPOLI was appointed as the lead energy & environmental consultant and the space became a marvel of WELL-inspired design, with a plethora of biophilic features. To meet the WELL requirements, the space will undergo rigorous testing on its air quality, ventilation, thermal and acoustic comfort, and water systems. Other initiatives include mindful eating promotion, creation of restorative spaces and programming, and policies to support mental health.  NOVARTIS is also currently pursuing LEED certification for its headquarters in Malaysia.

“NOVARTIS Headquarters sets a benchmark in how existing office buildings can be transformed to lead the way in workplace health and wellbeing,” said NEAPOLI’s Managing Director Hans Weemaes. “This is a company that at its core deeply understands the connection between the health of people and the importance of designing and constructing spaces that enhance health and well-being. We congratulate them on this significant achievement.”

The WELL Building Standard™

The WELL Building Standard™ is the first building standard to focus on the health and wellness of building occupants. Developed by Delos and managed by the International WELL Building Institute™, WELL was designed using evidence-based medical and scientific research to create a built environment that better supports human health and well-being.

In our workplace and every space that we touch, we are working to increase awareness of healthy practices and improve people’s lives. Together with you and WELL, we know we can help people start this journey and make a difference.
