The Malaysian Interior Designers Association (MIID), the representative body of the Malaysian interior design industry, announced last week that NEAPOLI’s Founder/Director Dr Stellios Plainiotis has been selected to be the sustainability judge of the prestigious MIID REKA Awards 2022.  The ceremony is set to take place this December in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The MIID REKA Awards champions the success of architects and interior designers who have delivered innovative and contemporary projects through thought-provoking and inventive design. The awards will honour the most exemplary projects in 3 distinct categories.

Dr Stellios will be joined by a renowned panel of architects and interior designers to judge the REKA Awards finalist entries that have all demonstrated design innovation, imagination, teamwork and the ability to meet and exceed clients’ expectations. He will be 

The judging panel will be made up of esteemed experts in the fields of architecture, design and development and will gather to review a short list of submissions competing for the REKA Awards. According to the MIID, the decision is not taken lightly, as their organisers have described their process for selecting judges on their website:  “This year, REKA Awards 2022 gathered a group of prestigious and distinguished judges across design and industry luminaries to elevate the standard of judging. Assoc. Prof. (Ind.) Ar. Sarly as a Chief Judge led Design Excellence together with Prof. Keat Ong and Ms Jennifer Choo, whilst the Industry Excellence panel was led by the Past President of the Council, Ar. Dr Chris Yap Seng Chye together with Datuk Ir. Ahmad ’Asri, Dato’ Hashimah Hashim, Datuk Chan Kim Meng, and Dr Stellios Plainiotis.”
