Fitwel was created as a joint initiative led by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the General Services Administration (GSA), with the Center for Active Design (CfAD) selected as the operator in 2016. The GSA and the CDC remain CfAD partners to incorporate future research findings as the science evolves and Fitwel expands into all sectors.
