The Delegation of the EU to Malaysia has moved to its brand new green premises.

The Delegation of the European Union to Malaysia has moved to its brand new premises. It aims to become the world’s first EU Delegation and the first Embassy in the Asia Pacific to pursue three independent Green building certifications for its premises:

  1. Green Building Index (GBI),  Malaysia’s green rating system to promote sustainability in the built environment;
  2. Fitwela rigorous, third-party healthy building certification that promotes positive health outcomes for building occupants and communities;
  3. The Oceanic Standard, a tool that focuses on implementing sustainable operating practices and engaging employees around a healthy workplace and office culture. 

Hired by global real estate services company JLL, NEAPOLI is responsible for the project’s energy and sustainability services and Environmental Certification.

H.E. Michalis Rokas, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Malaysia stated: “Our aim is that the new office matches our commitments emanating from the European Union’s Green Deal. Therefore, we are implementing various green and health measures such as a humidity monitoring system, and healthy food and beverage provision, just to name a few. My hope is that the new office will provide us with an auspicious environment to further strengthen and deepen EU-Malaysia relations”
