Every LED chip manufactured in Kulim contributes to global energy efficiency, as LED technology typically uses 75% less energy than traditional incandescent lighting and lasts 25 times longer. But the impact extends even further – ams OSRAM’s optoelectronic products support the transport transition to e-mobility, improve road safety, enable affordable healthcare applications, and power intelligent, energy-saving plant lighting for resource-efficient food production.

The Kulim facility’s LEED Gold achievement directly supports ams OSRAM’s ambitious corporate sustainability commitments. As part of their Operations Sustainability Program launched in 2023, the company has set a bold target of achieving carbon-neutral production by 2030. By 2028, energy consumption and emissions at their semiconductor sites will be reduced by 20% through efficiency measures, with electricity supply converted to 100% renewable energy.
